TIS Magazine 2020

That statement showed so much determination and passion that it pushed everyone to work instantly to achieve just that. Fast-forward to a few weeks later and I still remember almost peeing my pants from fear!! I can assure you that memory will always be one of my favourite memories in TIS. I had always had a hunch that she was special but from that day onwards I always look back thinking to myself, “Wow, we did that.” She never let anyone feel inferior to the other. Whether you were a secretary, a drink vendor, or even just a helping hand to the committee; she made sure everyone worked equally hard. I can testify that she works with honesty, focus, passion, respect, con- fidence, clarity, and care. This is why I’m proud to announce that Noelle Mends Addison is rightfully the EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR!! Oh, but it doesn’t stop there, the best is yet to come. As you continue to read you will get the juicy information you’ve al- ways wanted to acquire!! From the silliest gossip said about her, to her weekly adventures that brought “THE” best entertain- ment nights. You will know the extremes she had to go past to achieve these entertainments and how exactly she was able to bring something that everyone thought impossible to life. Okayyy, let’s begin! (P.S. you’ll see me gassing up some of her responses as we go. Allow, she is just amazing!) What was your first thought when you found out you won Exec- utive of the Year? “A lot of things. First, I thought wow, after six long years of hop- ing to see myself in the magazine, I’m going to get a whole fea- ture. But on a serious note, I was relieved. It was satisfying to know that people acknowledged my hard work and appreciat- ed what I had done.” Of course, you deserve it girl! Now, what entertainment inspired you to pursue the position? “I don’t think I can pin it on one en- tertainment. It’s been a long ride since I joined the entertainment committee in grade 7 and in those six years, I have had many positions from drink seller to grade representative to treasurer and public relations officer. Thinking about howmuch I had given myself to entertainment, it was important to me that I ended the journey remarkably.” What pushed you to make your mark? “I needed myself to know and understand that whatever I imag- ined could be achieved if I worked hard enough. I wanted to be consistent in everything I did, to make sure I was leaving the position with the same zeal I entered with.” Can you briefly tell us how your journey was as an Entertainment executive? “The journey was a test of my self-confidence. I had to learn how to trust myself more, which made it mandatory to strive. I was never fully sure how things would turn out. So, it was also a strong test of my faith in what I was doing. Being an executive was a teaching experience where I learned not only more about the organization, coordination and planning, etc., but the im- portance of being focused and having unwavering confidence in what I believed in. I realized that in all things, pleasing every- body is 100% impossible. At the end of the day, it is important to do what makes you happy because honestly those people may forget, but you never will.” AND THE EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO.
