v.030920R Page 7 of the committee . FUTURE PLANS We are committed and determined, as a school, to ensure that the COVID-19 pandemic does not derail the education of our stu- dents. Considering the uncertainties associated with the restart of most educational institutions, we believe our robust online teach- ing and learning model will ensure our learners get the best out of our engagements. As an IB World School, we are integrating fea- tures into the model to ensure we uphold the teaching and learning principles of IB and satisfy the stipulated hours of study. Tema International School will support our students in the 2020/2021 academic year to ensure they experience the best learning experience possible, whether it be online or in-school. The way forward for the future is to improve our classrooms with video conferencing facilities that can support online learning. This will seamlessly support the blended ap- proach to online learning. Both on-campus and off-campus students can take part in the same lesson. Impact on School Finances Fees Management has decided on the following as school restarts within the period of the Pan- demic: Fees for the 2020/21 academic year remain unchanged (Main Campus & Primary Campus) The fee structure for main campus comprises of: - Tuition – 67% - Boarding – 33% Due to the closure of schools last semester, the remaining boarding component of the school fees which were unutilized have been credited to each continuing student’s account. Final year students (DP2, class of 2020) will have their fee reduction paid out to them by the end of September 2020. Primary school fees entirely relate to Tuition. For Model 1, where the school remains closed and operates online learning, boarding costs will be waived. For Model 2, those who opt to be in full boarding will pay full fees. Fees for online learning option will be tuition only.
