For more that a decade, this group of passionate, strategic, and forward-thinking individuals has worked tirelessly to guide the direction of our school, always placing students at the heart of every decision believing in their potential always.
Their leadership has shaped not only our curriculum and facilities, but also the values and culture that define who we are.

Their drive ensures our school remains future-focused. Their governance balances aspiration with accountability and their support empowers our staff and leadership team.
Dr. Sylvia Awo Mansah Boye, a renowned Educationist, was born in Keta. She attended Wesley Girls High School (1952-1956) and Mfantsipim School (1957-1958), both in Cape Coast. She furthered her education at the University College of Ghana (1959-1962).
Dr. Boye had a distinguished 37-year career with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). She broke glass ceilings, becoming the first female Head of the Ghana National Office (1989-1995) and later the first female Registrar of WAEC (1995-2000).
Her achievements extend to education leadership, as she was the inaugural Chairperson of the Board of Governors for Tema International School, where she is still helping in the running of the school as a Member of the current Board.
Dr. Sylvia Boye’s contributions have been recognized nationally and internationally. Notably, she was awarded the Order of the Volta (MV) in Ghana and the Grande Dame of the Order of the Star of Africa (GDOSA) in Liberia.
Anis Haffar is committed to preparing a generation of leaders for local and global roles. In 2016, he was recognized by the New African magazine (London) among the “100 Most Influential Africans” of that year.
Besides his weekly column, Education Matters (Daily Graphic, Ghana), he’s the author of: “LEADERSHIP: Reflections on Some Movers, Shakers and Thinkers” which he used to teach Leadership Seminars at Ashesi University; “MFANTSIPIM: The Makers of a Great School”; and three, “Strategies for Effective Teaching and Learning”.
He started off professionally in the U.S. with the Los Angeles Unified School District, and later, coordinated a Gifted And Talented Education (GATE) program.
In Ghana, he has served as Chairman, National Teaching Council (NTC) and a board member of the Ghana Education Service (GES). He’s an advisor of the Otumfuo Millenium Excellence Foundation, and Senior Lecturer, Accra College of Medicine.
He is a product of Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast; California State University, Los Angeles; and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Mr. Kwaku A. Sakyi-Addo is a communication consultant. He was formerly a journalist and broadcaster; telecommunications policy advocate who served as CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and, subsequently, Chair of the National Telecommunications Authority (NCA), the industry regulator.
Mr. Sakyi-Addo has been a TIS parent since 2009.
Mr. Joe Ohemeng has accumulated over 38 years of experience with Deloitte & Touche.
He retired from the Firm in 2019 as the Director in charge of the Risk Advisory Business Unit.
His experience spans a broad spectrum of risk advisory services including cyber security, information technology assurance and risk management, risk based internal audit, forensic reviews and special investigations, fraud risk management, internal controls assessment, governance and compliance risk, control transformation , data integrity and data analytics in the Public Sector, Financial Services, Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Manufacturing and Energy Sectors.
Prior to his role as Director of the Risk Advisory practice, Mr. Ohemeng worked in Audit for over 10 years.
Audrey Gadzekpo, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Department of Communication Studies and former Dean of the School of Information and Communication Studies at the University of Ghana. She has more than 30 years’ experience in teaching, research and advocacy, primarily on media, gender and governance issues.
A former TIS parent, Prof. Gadzekpo serves on other boards, including the Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), which she chairs, and the Centre for Journalism, Innovation & Development (CJID), Abuja, Nigeria.
Audrey obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Birmingham, U.K., her master’s from Brigham Young University, Utah, USA and bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana.
Mr. Eddy Torkornoo joined Tema International School (TIS) in April 2003 as a Special Assistant to the Co-Founder, Mr. A. A. Adjavon preceding the school’s official opening later that year. He played a pivotal role in the school’s early development, becoming the first School Administrator and Secretary to the Board of Governors—a position he still holds today, while serving as the Head of Administration.
Before joining TIS, Mr. Torkornoo worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation’s World Service Trust (BBC-WST) as a Project and Logistics Coordinator.
He holds a B.Sc. from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester, UK.
