Tema International School is proud to celebrate Rose Armah on her nomination as a Buddies Without Borders (BWB) Pioneer, an award given to students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills while engaging with peers from around the world.
Rose earned this distinction through her active participation in the Power for a Better Future Forum, where students explored global challenges related to clean energy, sustainability, and international cooperation. Her contributions stood out to her team coach and international teammates, leading to her nomination and pre-approval to lead a BWB Club at TIS next academic year.
In their congratulatory message, Mrs Mohs and the BWB Team shared:
“This achievement demonstrates your exceptional leadership and communication skills, as identified by your team coach through your work with international teammates. We are impressed by your thoughts on the power of critical thinking in solving complex global issues.”
Reflecting on her experience, Rose shared that the forum helped her grow both academically and personally. Through discussions with students from different countries, she gained a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding renewable energy and the importance of considering multiple perspectives when addressing global challenges.
One of her key takeaways was that there is no single solution to the world’s problems. Different countries approach challenges in different ways, and meaningful progress requires innovation, collaboration, and adaptability. Rose also recognised her own growth in critical thinking, confidence, and communication, learning to contribute thoughtfully while respecting diverse viewpoints.
“This forum has shown me that even as individuals, we can contribute to larger conversations and be part of global change,” Rose reflected.
Congratulations, Rose, on this well-deserved recognition. Your commitment to learning, global-mindedness, and positive action reflects the values of both the BWB programme and the TIS community. We look forward to seeing the impact you will continue to make as a young leader and changemaker.
