There are only two people in the world that you need to care about their opinion. It is not your mom, your dad, your spouse, your kids, your boss, or your friends. It is the 8-year-old version of you and the 80-yearold version of you. You have lived a good life if you impress those two people.

Thought for the Week
Barty Lesson #1: You have choices. You can stop when it’s enough, even if it’s what you’re famous for. Opportunity costs are real and being at the top of any field requires that you forgo a lot of other things – birthday parties, lazy sleep-ins, childhoods, sensible recovery time and much more. Knowing when you are maxed out
is crucial to achieving long-term physical and mental health.
Barty Lesson #2: Recognise the opportunity costs. You get one life (that we know of), and no matter how much money you make, you can’t buy back time.[/vc_column_text][dt_call_to_action background=”plain” line=”true” style=”1″]Download PDF[dt_gap height=”10″ /][dt_button size=”small” style=”default” animation=”none” color_mode=”default” icon=”” icon_align=”left” color=” link=”https://www.tis.edu.gh/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/TIS-Bulletin-290422_compressed.pdf” target_blank=”true”]Download[/dt_button][/dt_call_to_action][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Criticising is easy and fast. Creating is difficult and slow. The two hours you spent on a book or movie usually took two years to produce. Anyone can tear down someone else’s work. The true test of insight is whether you can help them improve it or build something of your own.

The bad days are more important than the good days. If you write or exercise or meditate or cook when you don’t feel like it, then you maintain the habit. And if you maintain the habit, then all you need is time.

TIS BULLETIN: 1st August, 2021
Two simple rules that make saying yes harder and saying no easier:
1. Don’t say yes on the spot.
2. When you do say yes to something, schedule when you’re going to do it in your calendar right away. Book twice as much time as you think it will take to do it right. Both rules are helpful, but the
second rule is perhaps more important. Scheduling the work helps you realize that saying yes has a very real cost. By scheduling double the time, you’ll avoid overcommitting and have the flexibility to take advantage of opportunities that arise.
